Dear Marija, I was so moved by your paper and I thoroughly enjoyed it all, but what I found most poignant was your description of the instances of how you (an obviously intelligent and creative student) was stifled through out your academic carreer. Now as someone who has a degree in teaching don't you feel we have to develop and mandate ways of educating teachers in being more sensitive to the child that is not speaking in class or appears to be holding back. Early intervention has been found over and over again to be paramount in assisting PWS. Do you have any ideas of how to bring these necessary approaches to fruition? Who can I, as a Speech Correctionist in a public school, influence to make it happen. I have requested workshops and inservices for teachers frequetly to no avail. Again many thanks for sharing your experiences. Sincerely, Emma DeGiralamo
