Hi, Jamie,

To paraphrase various Zen (Buddhist) master's: I hope you keep your beginner mind! Continue to see the world, and working with people who stutter, in a fresh, not preconceived, way every day.

Eastern thought and practices are designed to help us see/know what truly is, so our personal journey's are not at all idyllic as we face and learn to successfully relate to what is both inside and outside us. As Jack Kornfield, former Buddhist monk and co-founder of The Insight Meditation Society, says, quoting one of his teachers: "There are 10,000 joys and 10,000 sorrows in each life."

Perhaps, as you may know, the ultimate lesson for each of us is acceptance.

Thank you for your comments. They encourage me.

Sincerely,

Ellen-Marie Silverman
