I think that the concept of a Chief Fluency Officer is extremely creative. Granting children the opportunity to map out there own mission statement and formulate a flow chart gives them something tangible to work from as a reference guide outside the therapy session. Very often getting children to generalize some of the strategies worked outside the therapy sessions is difficult, having a plan that a child can carry with them or reference might be helpful in getting children to practice strategies. Have you used this strategy with other children? What age range of children has this exercise proven most effective for? Has feedback from parents regarding this exercise indicated that children were more eager to practice strategies at home or elsewhere?
