Dear Jenny – Many thanks for your supportive words, and all the best in your work. Thank you for having chosen speech pathology – with a view to help persons like us. My advice to you would be to deal with persons who stutter like with any other “normal” fluent person. Indeed, our stuttering does not make us better or worse than any other human being – and we experience the very same problems and happiness in life as others. We want to be on a level playing field with others – despite our stuttering and keeping this in mind – I’m convinced that you’ll be a wonderful therapist! Jim.
