Charlotte: I don't know which article you read about "temperament" but I think the author(s) may have generalized too much. Different stutterers show different characteristics, features, etc. An idea I like is that there are probably sub-types of stutterers; so different types show different characteristics. This idea is many, many years old but I like it. Regarding cluttering the smae is probably true. Some authors suggest a "motor type of clutterer, and a "linguistic type of clutterer. ??? Maybe. Regarding clutterer's temperament, various authoirs have used terms like short-tempered, impatient, untidy, impulsive, aggressive, etc. Of course this isn't true for all clutterers,, so the sub-type concept seems to offer a better explanation.
