Rob, thank you for your reply to my question about supporting a loved one who stutters. My sister is not exactly happy with the therapy she received as a child. Although I don't totally know why, I believe it's because of the social isolation she felt when she was pulled out of her regular education classroom for 'therapy time'. I agree whole-heartedly with you when you say in other posts that therapy should have a 'holistic approach' to address confidence issues, social situations, etc. What do you see as the role of the SLP for implementing a holistic approach for school-age students, high school students, university students, and/or adults who stutter covertly? In other words, what would you have liked the SLP to include holistically when you received therapy in the university setting? Thank you for your insight.
