I enjoyed reading about your experiences. It seems to me that "being real" is really a reflection of the shared human experience and about appreciating the gifts that surround us. I think all people can benefit from a reminder that we are "far more similar than we are different", and that no person is better or lesser than another. As a future clinician, I hope to carry this message to all families and clients that I work with. I wonder if you have found some people who stutter or their families to be resistant to this notion or more likely to be relieved at the suggestion.
