This was one of my favorite stories growing up and it still has the same effect of making me realize that I am valuable in spite of my faults! Thank you for sharing such a personal part of your life! Your story helped me to realize that the difficulties we may have do not define us. Our difficulties may help to shape and enhance our lives, even bringing pain as we continue on the path. However, your writing reminded me that we still have to make a choice (daily) to become what we were intended to be, whatever our shortcomings. I have tried through many parts of my life to present to others what I thought they wanted to see, the person that "had it all together" and who did not make any mistakes. I am learning, slowly, to let go of that facade and let the person that I am show through. It also reminds me to give grace to others as they grow. Thank you for your insights; I enjoyed reading your story and beginning to meet the very special people in your life through your words!
