Thank you for such a great article. I am preparing to do a motivational speech at Toastmasters this week, in commemoration of ISAD, and what I started to put together was similiar to what you shared in this paper. As a person who stutters who hid it for many, many years, I am just now finding out how empowering it is to share part of my story with others, and how being real and honest is enough. Part of my speech tells bits of my story being real, and after reading your paper, I decided to use a couple of questions for "oooomph" and emphasis. I think I will also use the excerpt from the Velveteen Rabbit to decribe "becoming real" from a different point of view. I felt very motivated after reading your piece, like you were speaking to me, instead of me just reading a paper. Thank you again. You have inspired me to be real when I give my speeches and share my story with others.
