Hi Ellen-Marie, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your enlightening and touching paper. It’s impossible to comprehend how you felt as a result of the tragic circumstances of your mother’s death. Change and personal growth are themes to which I have been particularly attracted during recent years. We inherit (predominantly from others) the greater part of our belief system at such a young age. The beliefs that we hold will remain in place and continue to influence the way in which we live our lives, unless we examine/challenge them, or learn from new experiences that bring them into question. It has been so liberating for me to step outside my comfort zone and tread unfamiliar paths. I feel that I am a much more complete human being. Many clients will (quite naturally) be averse to change, preferring the tried and tested status quo. How do you overcome their reluctance? Do you encourage them by explaining the accompanying benefits? Thank you for your contribution to this year’s ISAD Online Conference. Kindest regards Alan Badmington
