I really enjoyed your article and I came up with a couple questions. Do you think it is best to use a technique, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to first address the individual’s perfectionism and associated problems, which will in turn lead to a reduction in the individual’s disfluencies? Or, is it better to first address the individual’s stuttering? When addressing the stuttering aspect, do you recommend using fluency modification techniques to help the individual relax and no longer avoid stressful speaking situations or fearful words? Thank you!
