I have seen music therapy do wonderful things for autistic children in a school in which I interned and I do believe in its success and uses. However, when reading this article I find myself wondering if a stuttering client would become dependent on musical beats/sing-sing vocalizations to be fluent? As a music therapist, do you see any drawbacks or negative side-effects with this therapy used on stuttering clients?
