Hello! My name is Tyra and I am currently a graduate student in a fluency disorders class. I read your article and found it extremely interesting! In class we have learned that people who stutter do not stutter when singing so I was immediately drawn to your article! After reading, I am wondering how the client can translate their musical thoughts into fluent speech? Is the musical therapy done simply to show the client that they are able to fluently express their own thoughts (not those of a prewritten song), or is there some way to progress from the singing into fluent everyday speech? Thank you in advance for reading and responding to my question. I look forward to hearing from you!
