Hi Dr. Williams, I found this article incredibly interesting and thought provoking. Being that stuttering can be such a deeply rooted psychological problem, as an SLP, where do you draw the line between addressing the fluency and addressing what may be the underlying cause? Especially when working with children and discussing progress with parents can be a large part of therapy, what is within the scope of practice for an SLP to discuss with these families and when is it time to refer to a counseling service provider? As a budding SLP, I truly appreciate your paper. Thank you!
