It's clear now that there are emotional/psychological issues to trudge through when helping a person overcome stuttering, sometimes well after they've learned to apply skills acquired in therapy. You emphasize the importance of confidence-increasing strategies, especially in not associating 'guilt' with stuttered speech when it occurs, and to 'like yourself'. What advice would you give to parents and caregivers if they are experiencing difficulty getting their kids to stop responding severely to their own stuttered speech?
