You are correct in observing that parents play an important role in helping kids who stutter manage change....I often have them in the session (I can do that in private practice)...I also continue parent education. I run a special event each year called Fluency Friday Plus...so, my parents get to meet other parents, see kids who stutter and talk to experts in the field..I cannot tell you how important it is for slps to work with the parents!! Often, I send home the powerpoints for the kids to share with parents. One teen left his "My Story" on his parents desk...his mom called me the next day. What she thought helped him..really made things more difficult!! Good luck..DG
