This is a great article. I am a graduate student at Illinois State University and I have been working with a client of this age. Your strategies are so true in speaking from a desensitization standpoint. Children at this age do feel alone and isolated. It is almost more important to work on feeling and emotions before even working on their actual stuttering. Reading stories of other people who stutter is a great strategy, but meeting someone is even better! Letting them know that they are not alone is key in beginning therapy for a client of this age.
