Hi Ellen, Thank you for your question. An analysis of stuttering is a count of frequency of stuttering and it could be expressed as percent stuttered words or percent stuttered syllables. The Stuttering Severity Instrument 4 requires this type of analysis; going through a speech sample and making a count of syllables that are unambiguously stuttered. Jean
