I am currently working with a college student who stutters. He has expressed that he would like one of his goals to be giving a required presentation in an upcoming class. We have identified the goal of giving the presentation, but he is not willing to participate in many of the activities I have suggested, or that we have come up with together, that would help him. (i.e. talk to classes about stuttering, practicing with friends, etc.) How do you help the person begin the steps towards their goal if its something they are uncomfortable with?
