Irene, thank you for your response, it has been very helpful. I was just curious about the effectiveness of botox injections for different types of SD and how it relates to the increase in fluency in your case. It is helpful to hear about success stories with these types of new and somewhat invasive treatment methods. I think it definitely adds a level of comfort for those who are looking to try the injections. I find it interesting that the Ph.D. SLP and the ENT would have different ideas about the type of SD but there are a lot of conflicting ideas about the different types and sometimes it is hard to differentiate between the two, so it is understandable. It is also useful to know that you were somewhat conservative/cautious at first with the injections so that your breathing was not compromised. (A suggestion that is probably made to most looking to do this procedure I would assume? Just to be on the safe side?) When you talk about the dysfluencies being related to the SD as the botox wears off, are there certain types of dysfluencies that are more pronounced as the botox injections are wearing off? -Lauren
