Katie - Thanks for reading our article and posing your comments and questions. Walt Manning has said that "If I had to select only one quality of a good clinician it would be a thorough understanding of the stuttering experience by the clinician. Two people who have taken a similar journey are more likely to be connected because of a shared understanding of the experience." I believe PWS and Parents of CWS/TWS need to find these kinds of clinicians for successful therapy; unfortunately, these types of clinicians are in alarmingly short supply. Over the course of my 25 years involvement in the self-help groups, I have found many parents and TWS who wish they had access to capable clinicians that they hear and speak with at the conferences, but because of distance issues, have been unable to secure their professional help in therapy. Teletherapy offers this opportunity to the client. thanks for the question!
