Lauren, Career-wise, I would advise PWS to find a job or career that they are passionate about, learn all they can learn, then research companies that have a good track record of hiring people with disabilities. These companies may have a more understanding hiring policy as compared to others. Make sure they know and understand the American with Disabilities Act policy so they know their rights. PWS must be persistent, stay confident and never give up. Practicing interviewing techniques is a must. Applying to different companies within the same industry should be done as well. Being able to relocate should be considered. And always, network, network, network. Becoming a member of Toastmasters may help as well. Many CEO's of companies belong to Toastmasters. Networking there could also prove beneficial. But, above all, never give up. Each failure to receive one job is another step closer to receiving a job.
