First, I am no expert in meds for stuttering. In my 20 years as a clinician I have heard more stories of "I tried blank medicine" than "I am currently using medicine." It would be interesting to see a survey by the NSA or a similar group to tally pws who have tried meds. Some have reported partial relief. Some have reported wicked side effects. One interesting thing is that meds like Risperodon (used for Tourette's and scizophrenia) were targeting hyperactivity in the striatum. It seems more meds are now focusing on anxiety, OCD, depression. This brings me back to the value of CBT.
