You asked how I was able to prove them wrong. I wish I had a clear recipt about how I improved my speech. As I grew up, I realized that the only way I could improve was to speak, speak, and speak some more. Going into the academic academic area, I had many opportunities to speak to students in classrooms. Slowly over time, I managed to overcome my embarassment. I decided that my speach would not hold me back. Through teaching, my speach slowly improved until I reached the point that I spoke at college graduations and at national meetings.
