Children who stutter can talk about stuttering in a class. Part of the teasing and ridicule comes from the "mystery" of stuttering. But talking about it as an intellectual topic removes the mystery and many of the reasons for the teasing and ridicule. Remember that each child is an individual. To most (children and adults alike), the logic of purposefully talking about what they find so embarrassing often escapes them. So, it make take a lot of support. (thanks for caring)
