Elyse I remember the words of a very senior and respected engineer I worked with at his second retirement celebration. This gentleman must have been about 75 years old, and still was outworking about 95% of all of us. He said when asked for his greatest wisdom in achieving all he had, “never, ever, ever give up”. Winston Churchill is quoted as saying something very similar, but I never got to have him as a mentor. I don’t think I’ve been particularly smart or wise in my life, just ridiculously relentless. I’ve been truly blessed work with honorable people who have given me a fair chance. Any success I’ve had has been because of the team of people worked with. This is true with speech therapy as well. The group I’m a part of has such power, more so than any SLP and client independently could have. We are all working towards a common goal and being with people working together has a power that lifts everyone up. Thanks for your comment.
