Dear Aleisha, Good question. No, we have not tried that particular technique, but it is a good idea. Accordingly, I can't tell you if generalization would necessarily occur, but I suspect that in some persons it would. But the greatest power of a group like this is not to get everyone to generalize but to grow to understand that (1) stuttering is not so bad and (2) everyone has his or her own process of change and acceptance which must be acknowledged and respected. Too bad you are not here at WVU and working with me every week to come up with a fresh idea for the group. Best wishes and good luck in your studies. Ken
