Dale, A very funny article! But on the serious side you would realise that in spite of your interview comments that stuttering progress only occurs when the client moves beyond a mechanical approach, that there are still many therapists in 2011 staunchly advocating an opposite view and advocating mechanics. In fact research on the best way to instill a mechanical therapy is the subject on one of the papers in this conference. Do you see a way forward in resolving this situation? (Another obvious problem is that SLPs whether they are behaviourists or cognitivists by preference are often not trained in providing anything other than a mechanical approach.)
