Clients at Risk for Suicide:
Our Experiences and Responsibilities

At the 2013 ASHA Convention in Chicago, Judy arranged and hosted a panel session on a little discussed and sensitive subject: the discovery and management of suicidal ideation in clients. To assure the privacy of panelists for whom the subject was deeply personal, the session was not recorded. Informal reports indicated that this session may have been the best attended at that year's convention; there was standing room only in the presentation room.

The following year at the Convention in Orlando, Judy hosted a follow-up session on the same topic. This time all participants agreed in advance to being recorded. You may view that session in its entirety here.
