Judith Maginnis Kuster, who compiled the information on this site, is a certified speech-language pathologist (CCC-SLP retired), an emerita professor in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences, Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a lifelong member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She holds an MS in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MS in Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Judy has taught courses in stuttering, counseling and communication disorders, researching on the internet, speech sound disorders, organization and management, introduction to communication disorders, orientation to clinical practicum, and phonetics.
Her major contributions to the profession online include two substantial websites: Net Connections for Communication Disorders, and the StutteringHomePage. Due to server changes, these sites are no longer available, but much of their content is preserved on this site. In addition, Judy hosted the International Stuttering Awareness Day (ISAD) online conferences for 15 years, also still available on this site. Judy has published extensively and has been invited to speak, primarily on stuttering and internet resources, in 34 states and 10 countries around the world.
Judy retired from the Minnesota State University, Mankato as a Professor. She was recognized as an ASHA fellow in 2002, and received ASHA's Honors of the Association, the association's highest honor, in 2026.
