Mrs. Stolper, who ran the hot lunch program at Madison Lutheran when we were students there, died December 23, 2002. Rich Wolter sent her obituary from a Madison Newspaper on December 30, 2002. Some of Mrs. Stolper's recipes are still remembered fondly by several of our classmates.
Hulda M. Stolper, age 99, formerly of Madison, fell asleep in Jesus on December 23, 2002, in Minneapolis, MN. Hulda was born on Dec. 7, 1903, in Wheaton, Minn., the daughter of Herman and Emma Koenig. She married Lothar Stolper, former teacher at Madison Luther School, and was manager of the hot lunch program at the school. She was also active at Emmanuel (sic) Lutheran Church in Madison, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Mich., and Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was always ready to serve wherever she was needed. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Elaine Rosenau and husband John of Madison; Alice Peppler of Chicago, Ill; Ruth Olson and husband Pastor Jerry of Red Wing, Minn., who will be officiating at the graveside service which will be held at CONCORDIA CEMETERY GARDENS, Fort Wayne, Ind. on Monday, December 30, 2002. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Landmeier of Grand Junction, Colo., and Clara Wilke of Seattle, Wash.; and a sister-in-law, Ella Stolper of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lothar, on Oct. 23, 1967; two sisters, Alma Wolfe and Wilma Keiser; and a brother, Roland Koenig. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
