This volunteer is a student in speech-language pathology. There is a family history of stuttering — both his brother and his father stutter. His stuttering was first noticed when he was three years old by his older brother. He reports that his stuttering consists primarily of repetitions with some evidence of blocks, especially in more stressful situations. He states that in the past his stuttering was "severe" and in the past he avoided talking. He now considers his stuttering as "moderate" and he no longer avoids situations where he is more likely to stutter. He states that speech therapy has been very positive in that "I learned how to become the most fluent person that I can be."
