Nancy- I am so glad to read of your involvement in the therapy process. You, as a parent, are your child's greatest hope. You are to be commended for "getting in there." Parents MUST be an active participant in the treatment process. You are fortunate to be able to work with such a gifted professional as Barry...

On another note...I am not enthusiastic, as a professional or as an adult who stutters, about any approach to therapy that implies a child or an adult who stutters must/should change their stuttering. To me , there is a quandry when this is done. All the self help organizations, and many of the experts in the area of stuttering, are coming around to the point where they will say that it is ok to stutter......If it is ok, why do I have to change? Am I not ok how I am?

Anyway, so glad things are going well for you and your son...He will thank you for the help one day.

Retz
