Jim is definitely correct about that. And for both good reasons. HOWEVER... believe me it's a lot easier said than done - and it isn't even easily said sometimes! A lot of people, particularly "covert" stutterers, can have a horrible time advertising the fact they stutter. And amazingly enough, they have the "skill" to really hide their stuttering from people over a long period of time. The emotional price they pay can be horrific, however. You might want read my paper on the Iceberg Analogy of Stuttering on this conference to get a better understanding of this phenomena.
