I remember several things from the Sheehan's like: 1) ignoring the casual negative responses of listeners; 2) learning to stutter in an easy relaxed manner; 3) getting past the need to speak perfectly; and 4) the willingness to voluntarily stutter including using voluntary stuttering to cancel speech attempts with which you are dissatisfied.

To this add the practice of non-avoidance. Just keep talking and not avoiding speech situations or covering up stuttering. Stuttering cannot stand up to the light of day, expose it and it shrivels away (hey! I made another rhyme.)
