Dear Jennifer and Ani, The term "lucky fluency" refers to when a stutterer suddenly experiences very little stuttering and sometimes almost complete fluency. This is very frustrating for both the stutterer and the clinician. It is extremely difficult to work on something that isn't there. You may want to read my response to Peter Reitzes on how to deal with this problem in therapy. The two most important techniques which helped me the most were advertising my stuttering and the handling technique of prolongation. I hope you have an opportunity in your class to review my therapy program, Successful Stuttering Management Program(SSMP). Your Clinic or Library should have a copy. If not, you can go to the website www.ssmpmanual.com for more information. Thank you for responding to my life story. I wish you all the best in your graduate studies and your career.
