Hi Steve:
YOU know and *I* know that these are desirable outcomes for stuttering therapy. However, how would you respond to some individuals who would argue that, since there are no published efficacy data to support these outcomes, they are essentially worthless? (Or "assertions," at best.)
You realize I'm playing Devil's Advocate here, but this truly is a serious issue. What would you cite as "evidence" that the outcomes you write about are, in fact, valid ones? Most of the outcome data we have is based on surface fluency. Shouldn't we be directing our energies toward that?
