I was surprised to hear that working with a severe PWS is easier than working with a moderate PWS. This makes sense when you think of the moderate PWS trying to hide the characteristics of stuttering. According to Van Riper, these characteristics need to be brought out in the open before the person can truly receive help.
It was great to be able to hear this coming straight from Dr. Van Riper. This information helps remind us and back-up what we future SLP's learn in our classes.
