I am a graduate student in speech-language pathology and am currently taking a class in stuttering. We have had a couple of PWS speak to our class about their experiences with stuttering. One of these speakers mentioned that at times, especially with speech-language clinicians/students, he feels that his communication partners may be giving him too much eye contact when conversing with him. What are your thoughts and advice on eye contact for SLPs/communication partners when conversing with PWS?
