Thank you, Mr. Manning for your article. I am currently a graduate student and will be starting in the clinical setting very soon. I feel humor is very important in the therapy setting not only with stuttering, but also other areas. My concern when using humor, especially with a pws, is the timing. I do not want to offend anyone, but how do you determine the right time to use humor. Does the pws first realize that there is a lighter side with stuttering or does the therapist know, with experience, that the timing is right?
