Yourdiscussion of the various medications used to treat social phobia is very interesting and as a lay person I would say very acurate from my own personal research and experience with stuttering. After finding the link with Dopamine I found a group of medications including propranolol that cured my stuttering and social phobia. I am not sure if my social phobia/ anxiety was caused by my stuttering but I don't think so and think it was more from a chimical imbalance related to Dopamine. Is there more research being done on medical treatments and as a former stutterer why is there not more information made public on possible medical/pharmalogical solutions? If people are referred to speech therapist shouldn't they also be given the option to try some medication or are regular MD's not schooled in this area? Other than seeing a speech therapist stutterers really don't have many options.
