Great article! I think that all SLPs need not only to be aware of their roles as counselors, but also feel comfortable with providing counseling services to both parents of individuals who stutter and individuals who stutter. I am aware that the amount of counseling time differs with different individuals, but based upon your experiences what is the suggested or average amount of time or frequency of counseling sessions necessary to provide parents with efficent information? I was also wondering if counseling should be with the parents only or include the person who stutters? I guess this is based on the age of the person who stutters?
