We have not found a lot of resistance in our parents...(actually just the opposite). However, it is important how you approach the parents. You only do it when you are comfortable with them and you never push further then they are willing to share. Sometimes you don't get everything in the first session. We re-visit the genogram and eco-map and use it as a tool to show growth. The growth is demonstrated by both the content shared and the changes made in the relationships and use of resources because of the ongoing therapy. Thanks for your question. It was important.
