Gail....Greatly appreciate your reading of our paper. Listening is a learned behavior, and "Therapuetic Listening" is a absolute necessity for professionals to learn and utilize if they are to have successful therapy with CWS and their parents. Unfortunately, our professional preparation at the university levels fall way short of doing this. Most don't even recognize the need for it. Shoot--ASHA doesn't even require you take a course on stuttering! You are wise to look for development of your skills in "Therapuetic Listening" in other disciplines and places. Thanks for participating in the conference!
