Hi Whitney, ---- At my age? Ha, ha, ha! <laughing> Listen kiddo, when I was your age, I had to walk to school five miles barefoot in the snow uphill both ways! Sound familiar? Ha, ha, ha! ------- Anyway, to answer your question, the answer is no, I really don't have problems with people today. I assume you mean relative to my speech. I am very outgoing and lead a very fluent lifestyle even though I still stutter significantly. I am too busy living life and helping other people to get bogged down in how other people, including my family, react to me. And really, my stuttering is an insignificant part of my life anyway. Over the years, I've learned to make my stuttering as important to me as others do - which is not much! ------- In truth, however, my stuttering has helped me define my life for the better. I am up to my ears involved with the National Stuttering Association and Toastmasters International. I am the national webmaster for the NSA website at www.WeStutter.org and I own or manage over a dozen internet discussion groups on the subject of stuttering. I am a mentor to many people in Toastmasters and speak quite often to university classes of student SLPs. I spoke to a class of students at TCU in Ft. Worth just yesterday as a matter of fact. I'm too busy to let stuttering get in my way! <smile> ------- Good luck in school Whitney. I hope you're enjoying this wonderful conference! ------- Russ, RussHicks@mail.com, Dallas, Texas, 972-881-1451 home, 972-489-6169 cell, My home page: http://www.RussHicks.com NSA home page: http://www.WeStutter.org
