Thank you for sharing your family's story. It offers great advice for bridging the unintentional gap between families and professionals (unfamiliarity with professional jargon). As a student clinician, it is easy to feel that maximizing the amount of time spent individually with a client, during each session, will be most beneficial. However, as you have pointed out, it is so important to incorporate caregivers into the therapuetic process in order to increase progress and/or strategies for doing so.
