Dear Mike -- thanks again for your thoughtful response! Please understand, this paper was not about the support we received from Katie -- it was about the overall frustration of five years with little progress. Yes, there were reading materials in the waiting room, Katie did involve me in therapy and gave me time to discuss things. The reason I'm writing a book is because I believe the material out there is either too narrow or too technical for most parents to grasp well enough to maneuver through this field as an informed advocate. The material directed at parents only focuses on home environment and feelings etc... not educating the parents on the field of speech therapy so that when we have discussions with the therapists we know how to ask intelligent questions and get meaningful answers. That's why I'm writing the book. Maybe you and Katie can help me edit! And please have Katie read this too -- again, thanks for you input and for caring so much. Dori
