Joe: I'm thankful to you for raising my awareness to the difficulties people with a stammer face in our country. It's not that I wasn't aware that people faced such difficulties, it's just that I never gave it a second thought at all. It was just something out there that affected other people and I didn't pay much attention to it, especially so as no family member of mine stammers. But my contacts with you have been most helpful and now whenever I meet anyone with a stammer, and have a chance to talk with them, I always ask if they're aware of the existence of your association, SCAC (Speak Clear Association of Cameroon). If I hadn't met and talked with you earlier, I would've been as embarrassed as my parish priest was the first time I met Blaise. But, thanks to your coaching I was able to speak to him without sounding too patronizing or making him feel worse than he was already feeling. I'm happy to hear that your group is proving to be of much help to him. I have had a chance to talk with him lately and he appreciates what you are doing for him, particularly the training session you organised in Bamenda some months back. One thing he seems to like very much is his meeting people who have similar problems and who are willing to share experiences with him. You're doing a great job! God bless. Martin
