It's unlikely that stuttering causes language disorders. Some experts have proposed that stuttering is a manifestation of language impairment (e.g., slowness in phonological encoding). In the article, when I say "language disorder," I'm referring primarily to impairments that affect morpho-syntactic development (acquisition and use of morphology and syntax)...it's not likely that such problems cause stuttering. As I said in the article, it seems plausible that such problem can aggravate stuttering, though -- this possibility needs to be researched further.
