Hi, Tim. I would first like to say that I think that this is a unique and great way to do therapy. I am a graduate student in speech pathology and I have taken an undergraduate course in stuttering and I am now taking an advanced stuttering course in graduate school. We have learned and are learning several techniques to treat people who stutter at different ages. I would like to say this idea of the CFO and mapping sounds like one of the best, it is creative and deals with the child’s feelings and seems to be easily generalized to other situations. I also have an undergraduate degree in psychology, so I often appreciate approaches that allow exploration of the child’s feelings and fears. I also think that it is great the child can guide his own therapy in a way, he is the chief and the therapy focuses on his areas of concern. I think that once the child becomes fluent with this approach they can have a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Great job, to you and Robert. I WILL use this in the future. Thank You!
